Summer Jobs for Teens: Gardening

Gardening may not be a glamorous job, but hey, who needs a glamorous job when you're a teen. You need money! That's what teen jobs are for... MONEY!!!

Even in this weak economy people are going to need their lawns mowed. Perhaps a neighbor needs their yard cared for while they take a vacation. Or, perhaps you live next to an elderly couple who would like to have their yard cared for.

Keep your prices reasonable. If you want to be hired instead of the adult gardener who does this sort of work for a living then you need to remember to keep your prices low. Summer jobs for teens aren't going to bring in a ton of money necessarily but you do want enough income to give you the freedom to do what you want while also putting a little away for your college days... or perhaps later in life.

Summer jobs for teens can lead to jobs later in life, a European vacation, or a new car. A summer job doesn't have to be boring. You can be creative when looking for the right job for you. Maybe working at the local clothing store is what you want but maybe you are more independently inclined. There are lots of jobs - whether you are looking for a summer job or a year-round job - that you can create for yourself. Entrepreneurship often begins when one is young in life. Think about what you like doing, then create that job for yourself this summer!

Gardening is an example of a simple job that anyone can do where the hours can be somewhat flexible and where you can be your own boss.

Enjoy looking for the summer job that fits you!

Leave a comment letting me know what sort job you are doing, why you are doing it, and what you like about it.
